The first leg of the journey back to California was to fly from Barcelona to Frankfurt, and then an eleven hour flight to San Francisco. This is over the Alps

4 Cats

The 4Gats, Mom took my friend and I to eat here this evening. This little cafe was frequented by Picasso and all of his art buddies back in the day. Now it is a swanky restaurant with live piano music.

La Padrera

My mom and I visited La Padrera this afternoon. It was designed by the Spanish architect, Gaudi. Supposedly there is not a single right angle in the whole building.

Parc de Montjuïc and Flamenco Dancing

My friend took me to the gardens around the Palau Nacional in the Parc de Montjuïc. I saw wild parrots and made these sketches

Font de Ceramica

That evening, we went to flamenco dancing at Tarantos in the Plaza Rieal. I got these gestures. The dancers were so talented. It was amazing how fast they moved before striking a pose.

Barcelona! Schilling Cafe

Yesterday I said goodbye to Sam and flew to Barcelona. My friend, Sergi, met me at the airport. We'll tromp around Barcelona for a few days until my mom arrives.
It was pouring rain most of the day, so Sergi and I hunkered down in one of his favorite cafes for a few hours. We enjoyed churros and coffee.

The British Museum

I love sketching Greek and Roman statues. It feels like drawing from life. I definitely feel a little rusty, but so excited to see all of these statues that I've heard so much about.

The Tate Modern

Normally I wouldn't say modern art is my cup of tea, especially to draw studies from, but the Tate Modern proved me wrong

We stumbled onto the Design Museum yesterday when were were wandering around London Bridge. Today we got tickets and went inside. The museum mostly featured iconic industrial designs, but the costume and couture fashion designs were my favorite

Magnolia Over Muggles

Today I could not find Plaform 9 3/4 at King's Cross Station. Later my mom told me it was because I am a muggle. Sam and I did enjoy exploring London despite this setback.

Brick Lane

Sam and I are off on a European tour! We bundled up our duffle bags and took the tube to our host's home on Brick Lane in London. Apparently Brick Lane has a crazy huge flea market festival every Sunday. So our adventure begins

Fairy Film Stills

Bailey and I took the Fairies out into the woods to set up "Film Stills." I had so much fun posing the Fairies in their natural environment, creating little vignettes for Bailey to shoot with her photography magic.

Mullough Mor

Hiked over Mullough Mor. This mountain looks like a collapsed wedding cake, but the view of the Burren from the top is incredible.

An Rath Fairy Fort

Walked down the road towards the fairy fort. It's one of the first sunny days and I'm excited to explore on my own a little

Today on Irish Studies we hiked around the Flaggy Shore and one of the largest turloughs in the Burren. We also encountered wild Icelandic swans.
