The first leg of the journey back to California was to fly from Barcelona to Frankfurt, and then an eleven hour flight to San Francisco. This is over the Alps

4 Cats
The 4Gats, Mom took my friend and I to eat here this evening. This little cafe was frequented by Picasso and all of his art buddies back in the day. Now it is a swanky restaurant with live piano music.

La Padrera
My mom and I visited La Padrera this afternoon. It was designed by the Spanish architect, Gaudi. Supposedly there is not a single right angle in the whole building.

Parc de Montjuïc and Flamenco Dancing
My friend took me to the gardens around the Palau Nacional in the Parc de Montjuïc. I saw wild parrots and made these sketches
Font de Ceramica
That evening, we went to flamenco dancing at Tarantos in the Plaza Rieal. I got these gestures. The dancers were so talented. It was amazing how fast they moved before striking a pose.

Barcelona! Schilling Cafe
Yesterday I said goodbye to Sam and flew to Barcelona. My friend, Sergi, met me at the airport. We'll tromp around Barcelona for a few days until my mom arrives.
It was pouring rain most of the day, so Sergi and I hunkered down in one of his favorite cafes for a few hours. We enjoyed churros and coffee.
