Ignite Maquettes

I sculpted these concept maquettes back in October for the In Between show. Now they are going to be displayed at the CCA Animation Exhibition from Feb 4-16 in the College Ave Galleries! I added some more detail to them and gave them a proper photoshoot. 

A Shrubbery!

Undergrowth plants for the set of my thesis film, Ignite. I modified faux foliage by cutting the stalks down, adding my own wire, and painting them! 

Sea Lion Maquette

I am so excited to be participating in a group project this semester! CCA is partnering with the Marine Mammal Center to create an educational short about the effects of Domoic Acid Toxicosis in sea lions. 

Here is a quick sculpt I made after learning a little more about sea lions. 

A New Crop of Trees

This is another set of trees, when they are complete, it will bring the total up to eight!

The Forest is Growing

I covered the foam tree trunks in brown paper mâché

Building a Forest

I carved the tree trunks out of floral foam. The branches are made from aluminum wire wrapped in brown paper mâché. 

Ignite Logo!

My film finally has a official title logo! I designed these letters based on medieval calligraphy and spaghetti western signage.

Puppets Are Done!

Boots and Belt

These boots are made from pleather. I designed a pattern, cut out the pieces, made some adjustments, and glued it all together!

The belt is a little strip of the same pleather. I bent a piece of wire to create the buckle

Peet, I am your father!

I wear a respirator while I'm gluing the scales onto Peet. The adhesive can be give off lots of fumes in my little apartment. I feel like Darth Vadar, but safety first!
